Learn Guitar Beginner - How I became a guitar player with online lessons!

April 28th, 2009

Hey Big Dave here,

If you’re looking for the best way to learn guitar as a beginner, then I’m really glad you’ve found this website and I strongly suggest you keep reading…

This is my warts n’ all, uncensored story about how I learnt to play the guitar from scratch! The ups, the downs, what stuff didn’t work and finally the one thing that DID help me achieve my guitar playing dreams!

Click here to see where I found these great beginner guitar lessons that really helped me!

I decided to take up the guitar about 6 weeks ago. I saw my 11 year old nephew rockin’ out on his new guitar and thought to myself “Hey, if he can do it at 11 years old, so can I!” So I called a local teacher and booked myself an intro lesson…the guy seemed nice when I got there, I even learned a couple of things BUT he spent most of the lesson showing off how good HE was and not really helping ME…NOT the best way to spend $50 I can tell ya! I then tried another local tutor a friend of mine recommended and ya know what? EXACTLY THE SAME RESULT! Again I learned a couple of things but spent most of the lesson watching this guy wail through some Hendrix…again not really what I needed as a beginner! I was beginning to feel that maybe guitar wasn’t for me after all when I gave my buddy a call to tell him how the lesson went. I don’t know why I’d never thought of it, but he suggested I try some online video lessons, so that’s exactly what I did!

I turned to Google to see what was available and I have to say there are SO MANY CHOICES out there, some hugely expensive some worryingly cheap, so I checked out a load of review sites and even posted on a couple of guitar forums to see which ones were the best and the same site kept showing up again and again:

From what I read these guys were one of the first online guitar lessons sites, have been around for years and have been the best selling system available. What I really liked about them was that the lessons were aimed at beginners just like I was…most of the other sites I checked out were meant for people who were already guitar players.

So I took the plunge and ordered the lessons (they had a money back guarantee so that was a reassuring and I’ve got to say they were awesome! The great thing about them is that you can watch the videos again and again and again to make sure you get what they’re trying to teach you. These guys aren’t show offs like the local tutors I tried, they showed me exactly what I should be learning and in the right order too so I knew what to practice AND in what order I should practice them.  Considering how hard it is to find a good tutor without even mentioning the cost of each lesson ($40-$50 each) is pretty standard, the JAMORAMA lessons were unbelievable! Everything was straight to the point, demonstrated really clearly for a no talent wannabe like me and really helped me to understand how to play.

The only downside I can think of is that you can’t ask you teacher any questions if you struggle with something, but the lessons areconvered so well the only time I had any problems I just had to watch the video again and I got it! Seriously this program is awesome, after 6 weeks I’m already jamming through Beatles, Rolling Stones even some Green Day (Hey, I’m not THAT old! lol)! Okay, that’s it I won’t bore you any longer, I hope you found this info helpful, make sure you check out this

AMAZING GUITAR LESSON SITE!

Beginner Guitar - Can you teach yourself guitar?

April 28th, 2009

Hey Big Dave here again,

Ok I did an absolute ton of research about learning guitar online, from some of the free stuff you see everywhere to the online guitar lessons that cost a fortune. Believe me people it’s a minefield out there, there are so many options to consider. Like most people I tried learning from the free lessons you can find everyhere, but to be honest…you’ve kinda gotta know what you’re doing to be able to understand them. Now that I can play guitar they make a lot more sense, but believe me as a beginner you DONT wanna be playing around with the free lessons on the net, they’re just too damn confusing and unstructured.

Now I’m not the most patient guy in the world especially when it comes to learning something new, so I wanted to find a way I could learn guitar fast. I didn’t wanna be sat around for months learning how to play a single chord, I wanted to get straight in and start see results straight away. The local private tutors I saw told me there was no way to learn guitar quickly, but I saw my 11 year old nephew pick up the guitar and start rocking out in hardly any time at all.

So anyway back to the research, I did a lot of digging around on Google, found a ton of guitar lesson sites, some expensive, some cheap. I dug a little further and read a ton of reviews and even posted on a couple of guitar forums to find out the best…If you don’t know me, you’ll soon find out that I like to make sure I’m spending my money in the right place, I HATE wasting my money on crap! So anyway I finally found this cool site, with these great lessons on that were even better than the private guitar tutors I used in my home town.  Check out my next post to find out all about it…

Learn Guitar Beginner - Should you learn online?

April 27th, 2009

Hey Guys, Big Dave here,

I just thought I’d make a post on here letting you guys know what this is all about! Basically I decided to learn how to play the guitar a little while back, I tried a whole bunch of stuff like private gitar lessons, DVD’s and lastly some guitar lessons online and I wanted to share with you guys what worked and what didn’t. I started off wanting to learn acoustic guitar, but after getting to grips with the online guitar lessons I went out got a new guitar and started to learn electric guitar too!

This website is all about how I went from a complete beginner guitar player, to being able to play through a ton of guitar songs. I mean I thought you could only teach yourself guitar if you were someone like Eric Clapton, but it turns out there’s so much you can do online without a real private guitar tutor.

Click here if you want to check out the online guitar lesson site that really helped me!

Anyway enough of me yakking for now, I’ll make some more posts in a little bit!

Catch ya later
